but two-wheeler registration plates continue to use the old system, below.
Old-style (pre-1998) vehicle registration plates have one letter, or one letter & one number, on the left in the smaller, lower line
(in the previous, pre-1996 series, it was the only letter),
which indicates the province of registration (followed here by its main town in parentheses, to aid location):
