Tajik vehicle registration plates normally have three Cyrillic letters separated by four digits, or, for foreign travel, a group of three letters common to the Cyrillic and Latin alphabets.  These indicate the district (oblast) of registration:

• Г 1234 Б_ (where _ is any letter) - Gorno-Badakhshan

• Д 1234 Б_ (where _ is any letter) - Dushanbe

• К 1234 Ю_ (where _ is any letter) - Khatlon

• Л 1234 Б_ (where _ is any letter) - Khodzhent

• Т 1234 Д_ (where _ is any letter) - Khatlon

• ТРН - Khodzhent

• ТРО - Gorno-Badakhshan

• ТРР - Khatlon

• ТРТ - Khatlon

• ТРС - Dushanbe

• ХРА - Dushanbe

• ХСВ - Khodzhent
